A native New Yorker, Irini Arakas spent seven years carefully cultivating her high fashion sensibility as a writer and editor at American Vogue. She left the world of fashion publishing in 2005 to launch her own accessories label, Prova, and has not looked back since.
Prova’s first collection was an instant success, selling out quickly at high profile stores such as Barneys and Kirna Zabete in New York and Chicago’s Ikram. Now the brand is carried in 22 stores worldwide, including Dover Street Market in London, Colette in Paris, and Harvey Nichols Dubai.
The collection has expanded from its initial emphasis on jewellery to include a line of scarves. Popularly dubbed ‘Sandinistas’ and inspired by Clash frontman Joe Strummer, these rectangular Italian silk scarves come in a range of vibrant prints with beaded glass fringe. Adaptable, stylish, and easily identifiable for their clever synthesis and originality, Prova scarves embody a casual glamour that is instantly chic. They have become fast favorites amongst fashion’s first row and an international style elite.
